Nik has spent his 25+ year working career in medical device and healthcare IT organizations like Medtronic, Optum (UnitedHealth) and Canon Medical in various technical and management leadership roles spanning R&D, strategic business and technical planning, product/program management, requirements/design, new product introduction and market launch. Nik has a deep understanding of biomedical and clinical systems and has worked extensively with medical experts to translate ideas and requirements into real world technology-driven products that can provide sustainable business value and innovation. Nik’s areas of specialization and expertise cover implantable medical devices, electrosurgical equipment, diagnostic imaging systems, digital health and AI technologies, and enterprise IT and data systems.
Nik’s passion over the past few years has been to create innovative digital health solutions that leverage the latest advancements in informatics, data science and AI/ML to transform the traditional care pathways in neuro, cardiac, lung and oncology, and define new growth areas which can accelerate the transition of healthcare towards greater intelligence, efficiency and connectivity, and achieving true value-driven care delivery.
Nik holds an MBA in entrepreneurship and marketing, an M.S in biomedical engineering plus a B.Tech. degree in electrical engineering. Nik also completed an Executive Development Program, UnitedHealth Group, Wharton School.
Fun Fact
He is a garage inventor and loves creating innovative household gadgets and devices. His latest project is an automatic Chai (Indian milk tea) machine.
