The Project
This project involved a 50-year old, worldwide provider of high-quality audio components. The primary challenges and needs for this client were multifaceted: to identify the current state of the haptics market, support the roll-out of their new "haptics" capabilities, support the strategic planning of the product launch, and conduct structured market outreach and research to gather essential data.
The Solution
The solution implemented was the Factor 7 Solution, which focused on a targeted research and outreach strategy. Key steps included: Tapping Factor 7 Medical's network of medical industry leaders and subject matter experts to organize focus group and interview sessions; identifying top target markets, companies, product categories, and an outreach strategy; developing an interview discussion guide, coordinating and conducting the interviews; and finally, creating a summary brief of all sessions to distill the critical findings for the client.
The Results
The impact of this work yielded several key outcomes. The team created targeted outreach to over 700 potential customers/collaborators. They solidified relationships with 10 medical industry thought leaders for collaboration across industry, accelerators, and academia. They also successfully identified top medical industry verticals and companies for potential engagement, and ultimately identified key adoption parameters and clarified product specification needs for the client's new haptics capabilities.
